roar!

I wanted to pose fiercely so that it will match my animalistic top.

So I tried...

and tried...

and I finally gave up since it was not turning out to be fierce but rather funny.Better luck next time I guess :)

i heart vintage

Went to my good friends Joril and Ferdine's wedding last June 27. This is what I wore :) dress - Viva Vintage; bag - ukay (P 80 only!!!); belt - Mango

The happy and beautiful couple with friends :)

My dress from Viva Vintage is amazing, its a tube dress with umbrella style skirt (don't know what it's called sorry) but its really beautiful. Please check out their site in Multiply as they have great fashion finds all the time plus dealing with the uber nice Daniel is a breeze.

Congratulations Joril and Ferdine :)

thank you for fighting for us

This morning when I came in at the office, sad news welcomed me. Soldiers were killed in a clash in Basilan. The number of casualties were different in the papers and from this article but one thing is clear, there are now a lot of families without a dad, son, brother and friend.

I always have a soft spot for soldiers because my Dad retired from the service a couple of years back. My favorite uncle was also a soldier and so is a cousin. I know the feeling when Dads tell their families that the risk is all part of the service to their country. I hope we can appreciate them more because they really deserve a lot. I for a fact know that they do not earn that much (God knows they should!), but their fulfillment and commitment is really beyond anything monetary.

I hope we can take a few moments in our day to remember our fallen soldiers in Basilan and their families who will feel the loss forever.

dear God, I hope we have Payless here

I love Payless Shoes! I actually got around 10+ pairs from one month of vacation in Vancouver last 2006. Saw these at the website and begging my Ate to buy me. They are not as expensive as the camera I want from her so maybe this will be okay... I will blog about the camera next (the one she said will take her years to afford :p)

Tita Cory, salamat po!

J and I went down earlier to say our final good byes to Tita Cory. I was 6 when the Edsa Revolution happened and for me, this is still the only People Power Revolution.
During that time, classes were suspended and all we did was watch channel 9 and because of that the famous songs, Magkaisa and Handog ng Pilipino sa Mundo were memorized by my sister and I. Our Dad was in the Navy at that time and we live near Sangley Point so the sound of low flying planes buzzing and soldiers with armalites walking the streets were ordinary. He was always on red alert at that time which is the only thing I hated about his job. Otherwise, I am proud of my Daddy and what he does :)

His friends attempted several coup attempts at that time but my Dad did not join, even once. He said his loyalty is and forever will be to his country. So he served Cory well and then Ramos, then Estrada and GMA. He is retired now so I think he is more concerned about his handicap more than anything, but still I see the soldier in him all the time.
Bye Tita Cory and thank you for making us proud to be Filipinos. Proud that our first woman president is more respected than feared. We need to be more like you everyday.

*thanks to my pogi officemate *naks* Ryan Dayrit for the video
