like Auntie, like niece

My niece is fierce in her leopard print jacket, much like how I was fierce with my leopard blouse in my previous entry hihi. Love you Kali and can't wait for you to grow up.

roar!

I wanted to pose fiercely so that it will match my animalistic top.

So I tried...

and tried...

and I finally gave up since it was not turning out to be fierce but rather funny.Better luck next time I guess :)

i heart vintage

Went to my good friends Joril and Ferdine's wedding last June 27. This is what I wore :) dress - Viva Vintage; bag - ukay (P 80 only!!!); belt - Mango

The happy and beautiful couple with friends :)

My dress from Viva Vintage is amazing, its a tube dress with umbrella style skirt (don't know what it's called sorry) but its really beautiful. Please check out their site in Multiply as they have great fashion finds all the time plus dealing with the uber nice Daniel is a breeze.

Congratulations Joril and Ferdine :)

thank you for fighting for us

This morning when I came in at the office, sad news welcomed me. Soldiers were killed in a clash in Basilan. The number of casualties were different in the papers and from this article but one thing is clear, there are now a lot of families without a dad, son, brother and friend.

I always have a soft spot for soldiers because my Dad retired from the service a couple of years back. My favorite uncle was also a soldier and so is a cousin. I know the feeling when Dads tell their families that the risk is all part of the service to their country. I hope we can appreciate them more because they really deserve a lot. I for a fact know that they do not earn that much (God knows they should!), but their fulfillment and commitment is really beyond anything monetary.

I hope we can take a few moments in our day to remember our fallen soldiers in Basilan and their families who will feel the loss forever.

dear God, I hope we have Payless here

I love Payless Shoes! I actually got around 10+ pairs from one month of vacation in Vancouver last 2006. Saw these at the website and begging my Ate to buy me. They are not as expensive as the camera I want from her so maybe this will be okay... I will blog about the camera next (the one she said will take her years to afford :p)

Tita Cory, salamat po!

J and I went down earlier to say our final good byes to Tita Cory. I was 6 when the Edsa Revolution happened and for me, this is still the only People Power Revolution.
During that time, classes were suspended and all we did was watch channel 9 and because of that the famous songs, Magkaisa and Handog ng Pilipino sa Mundo were memorized by my sister and I. Our Dad was in the Navy at that time and we live near Sangley Point so the sound of low flying planes buzzing and soldiers with armalites walking the streets were ordinary. He was always on red alert at that time which is the only thing I hated about his job. Otherwise, I am proud of my Daddy and what he does :)

His friends attempted several coup attempts at that time but my Dad did not join, even once. He said his loyalty is and forever will be to his country. So he served Cory well and then Ramos, then Estrada and GMA. He is retired now so I think he is more concerned about his handicap more than anything, but still I see the soldier in him all the time.
Bye Tita Cory and thank you for making us proud to be Filipinos. Proud that our first woman president is more respected than feared. We need to be more like you everyday.

*thanks to my pogi officemate *naks* Ryan Dayrit for the video

maaad crazy

My mom always says that we have a choice - in everything! Even if we think we don't, we do. It's maaad crazy if we are so serious all the time so I decide not to be most of the times :p Does not mean though that I am not taking things seriously, I just choose what to sweat about...

hilaw na boots (quite like boots but not really)

Today I am wearing my favorite shoe of the moment which Carol calls hilaw na boots. Translated, it's quite like boots but not really since its more of a sandal actually. I love it because of the it-feels-like-i-have-boots-on-my-ankle-but-not-really because I am not very fond of wearing closed shoes, my feet feels warm all the time. Here are shots of my new babies...

Today I felt like dressing up because tomorrow is Saturday already yay. This for me though is dressed up already.

Gray top from Landmark (PHP 179.75 only!!!)

As know as jacket from ukay

Total Recall

I was out with MJ the other night and I was telling him how much I wanted to be 6 again. How much I love how simple life was then and my favorite thing in the world was a chocolate twin popsies. I told him that if God will tell me that tomorrow I will be six again given that the day after I will be 28 again and jobless, I will say yes in a heartbeat! That is how much I wanted to be six again :)

Reminiscing time na rin naman, I told him that I heard that the movie Total Recall will have a remake. Wow we love that movie and then we discussed what our favorite scenes are and here they are (tee hee..)

MJ's favorite scene

and mine

Parang baligtad ata that I was the one who wanted the boobs scene. I told him it was too jarring to forget :p

So, what movie do you want a remake of??? Me parang I want Coming to America hee hee...

C2 Sephora

Have not blogged lately, I know I can make time if I want but I was too preoccupied with work. Oh well, now back to the more important things in life :)

CJ and CM (the C2 hehehe...) went to Singapore for a business trip and of course being the addict that I am, I told them to get me a lip something from Sephora since Singapore has Sephora na! Yipee! They did get me something and oh boy was it something! It made my week really :) What a nice way to end an otherwise hay naku! week.

YOU up there really love me. YOU always make up for the things that suck in my life with sweet, sweet stuff like this.

Thanks girls. I love you both.

PS. CJ got inggit when I opened it because it has a brush and mini mixing bowl :p Promise I will let you borrow what you gave me!

dear God, thank you.

As what my previous entry stated, I am not asking for an easier life, just a little bit of patience, strength and courage to live mine... and of course all the difficult things are well worth it when you have unexpected, happy surprises on an otherwise sh***y day.

Thank you G from the bottom of our hearts :-) You are sweet and kind. Besos to you in SG. Really, we can't thank you enough for brightening our day. - K&A

a quick letter to God

Dear God,

Thank you for the message the other Thursday. It's true, I am not praying for an easy life, just a little bit more strength, patience and courage to live the one I have now.

Thank you. Amen.

zebra, hamburglar and the boy with fierce shoes

These were the shoes I was wearing yesterday. E said I looked like a zebra because I was wearing a gray and black striped top too :p. He changed his mind and said I'm better as Hamburglar. Oh well...

I love shoes and so does this boy. I will post more fierce shoes from him as soon as I get to take my stolen shots. He got this at Siam Square (or was it Center?) in Ho Chi Minh. Too too fierce...

Cosmosyana bisyo #3: Shoes and sandals

I forced E to buy me these sandals the weekend before last. I rationalized with him that I don't have any wedge sandals yet so I have to have one since it seems to be the IT sandals for summer (my personal prediction) It's from Marie Nicole by Figlia in Landmark for about PHP 1k.

I love them, they are super comfy and did not hurt at all even if I had a long day including the walking from my street to where I take the bus. It has a comfy cushion for the heel which is a super plus for me since I walk around a lot. The color is perfect too because nude footwear specially sandals would give the illusion of long legs (my friend A said that hehe). This shall be my office summer sandals since its heeled and perfect for when I wear my skirts and "office" shorts again :)
